Valentine's day cache?
« on: February 10, 2013, 16:57:11 »
Hello all,

We "have" to find a cache on Valentine's day, so were wondering if any of you could make some nice suggestions about a cache a little bit more special than the usual park n grab.

Because we have a dance lesson on that evening at the Nepean Sportsplex, our ideal would be:
- reasonably short driving distance from the Nepean Sportsplex
- park n grab, or only a short walk
- available at night
- guaranteed to be found (i.e. easy find + winter friendly)
- ideally with a love theme, or at least a special hide

Any suggestion?

Too bad http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC1MKVK is too far out of your way.
Despite the size of the container, it doesn't meet my definition of winter friendly.
A visit during the non-winter months is require to fully appreciate the unique landscape.

From memory, none of the traditionals immediately surrounding the Sportsplex stick out.
However, there are some fairly quick multis nearby:

How about an easy puzzle close by, with the correct theme.

"Loves Cache" by MAPSIT - http://coord.info/GC22F1Z

Solve it at home together to make the find that much more special.
It can be found at night (a mini mob found it on GAG18 night), and I do recall it being winter friendly.  Parking is a bit tricky however, but you can get away with side-of-the-road parking if you're careful.

Thank you for all your answers  :)

We already knew about the CCC Workshop, but it is at the same time as our ballroom dance class.
The multi-caches sound interesting, but too time-consuming considering that we will be hungry and it will be late in the evening.
We were very tempted to do "Loves Cache", which we solved together as suggested, but we are a bit unsure about parking for this cache, especially at this time of year.

Our candidate for this evening will be: GC3P9RK (Falling for you).

Happy Valentine's day!
