Mozilla's Firefox and GOOGLE's Chrome web browser's allow for add-ons that permit you to tweak the way web pages are displayed and/or function using 'scripts' crafted by others and downloaded by you much like an app for a smartphone. IE users stop reading now, you'll only be disappointed....

First install Greasemonkey as an add-on to your browser, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/ or on Firefox go to your Tools tab, and then Add-ons (or ctrl+shift+A) and 'get add-ons' searching for Greasemonkey and install it.

Once it's installed click in the monkey, no really, the monkey, and look for the 'get user scripts' hot link in the top left. Go there and search for "GC Little Helper 9.7". Make sure you get the right one, it's got all the positive reviews. Install it, it only takes a moment, then open geocaching.com and see the difference. Lots of small but very useful functions permitted, and there is lots of room to play with user preferences. This script only affects geocaching.com web pages and google maps. Check out Google Maps for a very useful feature....

I loaded this script in Chrome and it works well except for images.

it's not displaying thumbnail images in logs and clicking the link for an image in a log does not do anything.

Who is the author of the version of GC little helper that you are using?
There are now several versions and a few authors on the site.
Most of the ones I looked at seem to be for facebook not geocaching.

The script by Torsten Amshove looks like it might be legit

// ==UserScript==
// @name           GC little helper
// @namespace      http://www.amshove.net
// @version        10.6
// @include        http://www.geocaching.com/*
// @include        https://www.geocaching.com/*
// @include        http://maps.google.tld/*
// @include        http://www.google.tld/maps*
// @include        https://maps.google.tld/*
// @include        https://www.google.tld/maps*
// @exclude        http://www.geocaching.com/seek/sendtogps.aspx*

Hi there Blue,

When I try to download GreaseMonkey for google Chrome, I seem to only download TaperMonkey.   It seems to be the Chrome version for Grease Monkey.   Is that still good?    When I google GreaseMonkey, I get a whack of sites.  Just don't know which to choose from.   Sigh!  Help!

OK, I've managed to install GreaseMonkey after installing Firefox.   How do I find the script for GCLittleHelper?    When I click on the Monkey(Main Page), I get one option called User Script Hosting.    If I click on that, I don't get anything such as GCLittleHelper.  I googled GCLittleHelper but got a bunch of hits and not sure which is the good one.   It's a struggle but getting there with a little help.   Even having seen Tim's presentation some time ago, it wasn't much help if one didn't have it in the first place.   Sigh!  Help!

Here's the link, I find it's a useful add-on, thanks for sharing!

Scroll down to the download section at the bottom of the page and you'll find a button for Firefox.

I really like Greasemonkey now.  Thanks for all the help and patience.    One question.   Our Mozilla Firefox is plagued with pop-ups.   Anyone else?
