That would bring the Costco online price down to 268.99 plus tax.

Not a bad price for that unit.

I'm going to take the plug and take advantage of this sale (I'm getting frustrated with the Oregon 300's antenna) - let's call it an early Christmas gift  ;). If anyone wants to also purchase and not a Costco member, I can order under my membership... just let me know.
Just one more... :) !

With the sale dates it will be available, you'll also be able to compare the price to what gpscity might have available for their annual Black Friday sale.

GPSCity and GPSCentral tend to match advertised prices. Call them; I bet they give you the same price.

Costco seems to have dropped the base price of the 62sc even further.

After discount, the price is now 249.99 plus tax.

Just an FYI, gpscity is currently selling the GPSMAP 62sc for $249.95 with free shipping.

The 62s is $199.99.

$199 is a great deal.  I don't feel the extra $50 for yet another sub-par digital camera is really worth the money, so I'd skip the 62sc.  Most if not all of us carry a seperate camera, and/or have one in our phones anyway.

So I'm a bit disappointed in the GPSCity Black Friday sales this year, as I was hoping the the new Oregon would be on sale. Nope. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

The one notable thing is that the Oregon 450 which is what I have used for the past 3 years is on sale for $169.95. It's the older GPS, but a really good deal for a solid touch screen GPS.

Another is that the 62sc is on sale for $249.95 with free shipping. The 62st is on sale for American customers, but is not a deal for Canadians. Kind of sucks as GPSCity is a Canadian company.

Ah well, no new GPS for me under the tree this year...  :'(

I've been on the fence whether to just keep going with my current GPS, get a touchscreen GPS  with a 3-axis compass (was hoping for a deal on the Oregon 600), or get a better non-touchscreen GPS with a 3-axis compass .

After this mornings issues under a bit of canopy and having to resort to using the compass on my smartphone to find the cache (phone zeroed out, GPS indicated 9 metres in the other direction), I just ordered a GPSMAP 62s.
I should have it tomorrow.

Which might help, assuming the person hiding the cache was using something other than their iPhone, which is not a safe assumption...

The ones that gave me issues this morning were placed by a Scout group leader, so I am assuming a GPS was used to place them.

This was not an isolated incident...whenever I am in the woods caching and slow down or stop, my GPS points in some random direction away from where I need to be going.
