New CCC trackable?
« on: November 19, 2014, 16:14:14 »
Is anyone interested in a new CCC trackable item?

Option 1 would be a geocoin, perhaps a reissue of the very popular 'Maple Leaf' CCC coin, or in the shape of our current CCC logo.
Pros: very striking coin, very well received.
Cons: very expensive, often stolen when released in the world.

Option 2 would be a trackable tag, perhaps in the shape of the 'Maple Leaf' CCC coin, or our current CCC logo.
Pros: much less expensive, not so big a deal when they get ripped off/lost
Cons: not as desirable/collectable.

Lets begin a discussion on the matter and see if there's any consensus regarding this. We want to avoid buying lot of swag that doesn't appeal to members and leaves us stuck with a lot of inventory.

I'd love to see the coin, even if it is expensive. The tag is also something that could interest me, but I'd rather have the coin.

Many geocoins now come with a tag to be released while keeping the coin in your collection. That option would suit me well.

I like the idea of a geocoin.   In terms of cost, I'd spend $10-$12 but not much more.  I rarely buy coins anymore for the stated reason that they tend to disappear.   But I'd buy one for our own group and  might keep it in my own collection rather than circulate it.
