Santa's Christmas Tree 2017
« on: November 30, 2017, 09:40:45 »
Lynnewill and her elves have been putting out a Santa's Christmas Tree cache since 2012 - latest is GC6XWVP.

We're despairing of finding a location for the 2017 version. It has to be Christmasy, winter accessible for kiddies but reasonably muggle proof.

HELP!!!!
Can anyone suggest a location in the Ottawa area?
Or perhaps you can archive one of your existing caches to free up a suitable site.

All suggestions gratefully welcomed. An email directly to lynnewill may be best.
Thx in advance.

Have you considered re-using one of the past locations?

For example Santa's Christmas Tree 2011 cache https://coord.info/GC398AH is archived and Santa's Christmas Tree 2012 https://coord.info/GC42NF1 is still holding the GZ. Would replacing one of these with the 2017 be easier than locating a new space?

Hi Lib
Thx for the suggestion.
Actually, we did re-use one of the sites - 2 years ago I think.
Save for last year's cache, none of the others are very attractive for re-use e.g. muggle prone.
Fortunately we now think we have a spot.
But it would be nice to have something in the bank too.
Ottawa is getting pretty geo-saturated, especially with the restrictions we have.
We may have to start going further afield.

I agree, your Christmas caches are rather large and loud, even if only for a few weeks, so they need a special spot to survive the holidays!
Looking forward to another Christmas Eve or Day sortie to find your hide....
