How do you determine bearing between two waypoints on the 62S? I can see how to do distance but not bearing. This is an easy matter on my Oregon.

I'm not sure how you do it with your Oregon, but with my MAP60 I would just create a route between the two points, in the desired direction, and that tells me the bearing and distance in the data fields.

Thanks...

Yep... this is what I figured. It is complicated compared to the Oregon. On the Oregon you simply hit find and there is a special little symbol on the bottom which when pressed allows you to select the two waypoints (geocaches etc). It then tells you distance and direction. No routes, no muss and no fuss. Just goes to show again there is no one unit that does it all.

On the 60, I just select "Measure distance" on from the map menu, select both waypoints and it tells you the distance and bearing.

Yep this works. I tried it before but I think I must already have had a waypoint selected before I went to the Measure Distance menu. Thanks...

On the 60, I just select "Measure distance" on from the map menu, select both waypoints and it tells you the distance and bearing.

To clarify;

Map60CSx

Go to the map page
Pan and zoom to the WP you want to measure from
Hit 'Menu' then 'Measure Distance'
Move your cursor over the WP and hit 'Enter'
That will drop a pin on that WP
Now pan your cursor to the next WP or feature. DO NOT hit enter, just read the distance and bearing in the data field above the map.

Or just create a route between the two waypoints.  ;D

Depending on how much pan and zoom you have to do it's faster and easier to do..... ::)
