Just an FYI, there is now another option for rebranded Eneloops.

I recently discovered that Amazon now sells batteries under their AmazonBasics brand.

I took delivery of some Made in Japan 2500 mAh AA LSD (low self discharge) cells this week.
$22.99 plus tax for an 8-pack.

These are the same as the Eneloop XX and Fujitsu cells, and are manufactured by FDK Corporation.

FDK is the Fujitsu affiliate company which purchased Sanyo's NiMh battery factory in order for Panasonic to complete it's purchase of Sanyo.

I bought an 8-pack of these a couple weeks ago. I ran them all through the Break-in cycle on my Maha Powerex charger. I used them in my Oregon550 the other day, and after 4 hours of continuous use, the GPS showed 4 bars on the battery.

I have never seen this with my Eneloops or Powerex batteries.

So far, I am very impressed with the quality (and price) of these batteries. Thanks for the tip!

(and in the vested personal interest department, Amazon offers free Canada Post shipping and if you take advantage of Amazon Pickup Points, you can get them delivered to the post office closest to your work. I padded my order with an Alan Doyle CD to get the shipping for free)

Here are the batteries I ordered: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00HZV9WTM

I didn't order any chargers; I already have Maha C800S and C9000 chargers.

When looking at the AmazonBasics batteries in general, make sure that it states "Made in Japan" in the description or specs.

What sizes of batteries do you want to charge? AA and AAA, or C and D cells as well.

If just AA and AAA, I can recommend the Maha/Powerex MH-C800S. That is the charger I regularly use for my fleet of batteries.

If you need to charge C and/or D cells, then the Maha/Powerex MH-C808M.
Both are available from Canada Computers.

They are expensive, but worth the investment.
